George Rafeedie loves bringing people together to achieve things they couldn’t accomplish on their own. He does that through his story marketing agency, Tell Your Story, and his office sharing and event space, CoWorkers, to name a few examples.
Rafeedie started Tell Your Story after several years at agencies and in corporate roles, including starting the Chicago office of what is now gyro (Denstu Network) in 2004 after a few years in corporate PR and marketing at Baxter Healthcare Corporation and Arthur Andersen.
Prior to that, Rafeedie started his career at a PR firm and B2B marketing agency in Cincinnati. In between, he received his masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University’s Medill School. His undergrad degree in journalism and PR is from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Besides telling stories, Rafeedie loves mentoring, networking, speaking, advising and teaching (Northwestern, DePaul and Loyola adjunct experience in his recent past). Rafeedie is very active with marketing associations and alumni clubs, most notably sitting on the Board of Directors of the Business Marketing Association Chicago for eight years. Rafeedie is also involved with many local initiatives where he resides in Wilmette, IL.
Rafeedie’s better half, Karen Rafeedie, is in the ad biz on the creative side and keeps Rafeedie honest and motivated. After years as a copywriter and creative director at various agencies, Karen is freelancing and an aspiring children’s picture book author.
Rafeedie also has two sons – one at New Trier and one at Wilmette Junior High School – who keep him hopping and active and proud. His pug dog, Nellie, brings him joy.
