Oktoberfest South Central Style
Today is Oktoberfest Day in South Central Wilmette. The annual day-long party is held on the grounds of St. Joseph School and Church on the corner of Ridge and Lake Avenue. The Oktoberfest is a family affair in the morning, but after 7PM, it is adults only.
We were there by 10AM to browse the antique fair a bit, and then had the kid enjoy festival favorites like the turtle race, bean bag toss, moon walk, pony rides and temporary tattoos. He got one of a rhinoceros on his forearm.
I’ll report more tonight or tomorrow on the adult only portion of the night which includes dinner (brats I hope), beer and German music and dancing.
