Great Investment

The hose was a solid investment. I used it today to clean our patio furniture and cool down the dog. Still haven’t figured out how else to use the hose, though, but I’m sure I’ll think of something. Our landscaper may use it at some point, I suppose.

In-laws

I love my in-laws. They were in town last week and completed our house upgrades to-do list made up of several little things that I may have been able to handle, but probably not.

Garden Hose

I bought a garden hose this weekend and a mobile hose winder-upper. The only reason I bought a hose is to spray off the dirty lawn furniture we bought from the previous owners. I suppose I may have to water the lawn in the summer, too. Not sure if the lawn service does that or not. I guess I’ll find […]

Backyard

We finally got to really enjoy our backyard last weekend. We had neighbors over and enjoyed the calm South Central air and light breezes from the east as the sun set to the west. Benefits of suburban living are becoming more clear.

To Angie and Peter

Yes, it’s been over a month since my last posting. I don’t care. Yes, my postings are short and sweet. That’s how I like them. Thanks for reading my blog. Much appreciated. I am questioning the purpose of this blog since I am slowly but surely transitioning to life in South Central. It’s a wonderful community, with good neighbors, good […]

Another Realization

Last night I decided to invite a few friends to South Central to enjoy a cult classic movie, The Warriors. It looks like I’ll need a better draw next time to get people from their comfort zones in the city. But for the people who attended, we now have more appreciators of the 1979 New York City gang film.

Back Yard

Our pug dog, Bruce, refuses to go to do his business in the back yard. So the benefit of not having to walk him as much has evaporated.

Snoop Dogg

We were invited to dinner tonight to one of our neighbors. We had to decline since we are going to a concert. “Oh, what concert are you going to?” My wife replies, “You’re not going to believe this, but we are going to see Snoop Dogg.” The neighbor replies, “My husband LOVES Snoop Dogg!” Maybe we’re in for a few […]

Welcome Cookies

Two sets of neighbors brought us over cookies, sweets and other goodies. One family gave us a homemade welcome card on orange construction paper. We hear that there is a map of the neighborhood complete with addresses, phone numbers and names (adults, children and pets).

A Sharing Neighbor

So I’m out there shoveling my driveway for the first time since my Dad made me do it more than 15 years ago. I’m thinking, “this is great exercise.” But I got winded fast. And then a voice from the distance called out to me. It was my new neighbor who knew my name somehow. We greeted each other and […]
